What’s the best time to tweet?
Have you ever had to train a puppy?
I recently read an interesting article about puppy socialization. It stated that one should throw a party or 3 in order to get the puppy used to people and to be socialized. “Puppy socialization can be a great excuse to throw a party and reconnect with family or friends you haven’t seen in a long time.”
I like the idea of reconnecting with “long lost” friends and family, yet I couldn’t help but think how hard it would be to pick a good time for everyone let alone making sure I got the message out to them.
This idea got me thinking about how I connect with my social media connections. Each day I log onto Twitter and post messages not really thinking if my message will reach all 1400 of my followers. I didn’t think it was possible to know the best time to tweet.
So I Googled “What’s the Best Time to Tweet?”
And here’s what I found! “When your followers are online!” Obvious, right? I thought so too! I wanted to know how to tell when the majority of my followers are online. It appears that there are a couple of tools we can use:
1) TweetWhen (by HubSpot) shows you when you’re most likely to be re-tweeted. This can be a useful tool for sure, but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I wanted to know when people are most likely to see my tweets. Try TweetWhen.
2) 14 Blocks is a brand new site that looks into your Twitter followers activities to determine when they’re online for each day of the week. This looks like a great product!
Take a peek:
You can sign up for a free trial to see data for one day of the week. If you like what you see, upgrade your account and get stats for a full week. I’m curious to hear from you with your twitter account.

Do you have another suggestion of a tool we can use? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
